Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness

It is estimated that 1 in 100 individuals have epilepsy and that more than 300,000 Canadians are living with epilepsy.

Purple Day was founded 15 years ago by Cassidy Megan, who was motivated by her challenges with epilepsy to foster conversations, dispel myths, and inform those with seizures that they are not alone.

Across DSB1, students and staff acknowledge this day today, Friday, March 24, by wearing purple in support of epilepsy awareness and the individuals within our communities, country, and around the world living with epilepsy.
